4, 2010 KGC Flower Arranging Workshops. 
    This series of workshops is designed to build on our 2009 workshops and is open to beginning and intermediate arrangers. After attending the demonstration, the student will create her own arrangement interpreting an idea, use leaves and foliage creatively in an arrangement, design a miniature arrangement, and use fruits and or vegetables in an arrangement.

7,   District III 2010 - Spring Meeting

Petal Pushers GC will host "Fun With Flowers" on Friday, May 7th at the Second Reformed Church, 2323 Stadium Dr. in Kalamazoo.  Registration, a continental breakfast and shopping will begin at 9:00 am.  Business meeting starts promptly at 9:45.  
The morning program, will be "Creating Community Gardens and Changing Lives" by JC Schneider, Advanced Master Gardener, following the theme of NGC President, Renee Blaschke.  The afternoon will offer a choice of Flower Arranging Workshops by the Michigan Association of Accredited Judges or a talk by Ben Yost on "Reproducing Forbs" (non-woody perennials).  The workshops are designed to help us all learn how to take flowers from our yards and bring them indoors to enjoy.

15, Niles - Plant Sale
The Four Flags and The Niles Garden Club will each hold a Spring Plant Sale, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., rain or shine, at the Niles Riverfront Park, corner of Main and Front Streets parking lot.  Club members will be offering established plants for sale from their gardens.  Prices will range from $1 to $5, with gallon plants for $4 or 3 for $10.  Plant related decorator items will be available for purchase as well.  For additional information contact Elva at 269-683-6015 or Elaine at 269-683-5292.

24, National Blue Star Dedication Battle Creek

What a honor it is for Michigan Garden Clubs, Inc., to dedicate a NATIONAL BLUE STAR MEMORIAL MARKER, as a tribute to all who've served or are currently serving in the military.

Start your day with a visit to the incredible vendors, breakfast with friends, followed by remarks by our morning speaker, National Garden Clubs, Inc.,  President, Renee Blaschke.  Mid-morning, relax, shop, or take advantage of two open workshops (there's plenty of room for all).  The afternoon program features, movie producer, bestselling author, public speaker, magazine publisher and America’s 2006 Gardening Communicator of the Year, Paul Tukey.  Mark your calendar; gather a group of gardening friends, and come to Battle Creek for this extraordinary event.  

Why not plan to arrive the night before, (May 24th) so that can attend the historic dedication of a National Blue Star Memorial, 4:00 pm, at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
