GROW AND SHOW GARDEN CLUB -- 2011-2012 PROGRAMS
July 21: Lunch/meeting at Westwood United Methodist Church.
Presentation: Winnie's Wild Flower Garden, by Patti Oakland.
August 18: Lunch/meeting/tour at Pretty Lake Gardens.
September 15: Lunch/meeting at Council House. Guided tour of
Kalamazoo - Nature Center's Tall Grass Prarie
October 20: Meeting/lunch at home of Barb Winter, followed by flower
arrangements for Heartland Health Care.
December 1: Garden Council Greens Sale arrangements. Meet at 9:30 at
Ellen Plano's home.
December 8: Christmas Luncheon at University Roadhouse. Members
bring "Toys for Tots."
No January meeting
February 16, 2012: Location TBA. Discussion of Living Walls/Wreaths
or Garden Art.
March 15: Meeting/Lunch at Garden Council House. Program, "Role
of Insects in the Web of Life," presented by the "Bee
Lady."
April 19: Meeting/Election of Officers at the Council House followed
by Winnie's Wildflower Garden work day.
May 17: Potluck Salad Lunch at the Council House, followed by
installation of new officers and plant exchange.
GROW AND SHOW GARDEN CLUB CONTINUING CLUB PROJECTS
Annual Greens Sale:
Create club projects. Provide
assistance at the sale.
Caring and Sharing: Once a
year, create 50 to 60 small flower arrangements
and distribute to residents of Heartland Health Center.
Caring and Sharing:
Monthly from October to April, help residents of Park Place
Assisted Living Facility make flower arrangements.
